All WordPress updates starting from 3.7 version will now be updated automatically. What does it mean? For example if there are updates 3.7.1 and 3.7.2 – they will be installed and updated automatically by the CMS itself. This is due to the fact that these minor updates are mostly done for security reasons and small bug fixing that is why they must present on your site ASAP!
However, you will need to update the 3.8 version manually (and maybe the forthcoming ones).
The new update uses Dropbox’s library – zxcvbn to evaluate whether your chosen password is strong enough. The library is used in the WordPress 3.7 core and is available for any plugins and WP themes.
Also, while installing WordPress, the default setting of using “admin” as a username is not available anymore! Thus, the security is dramatically improved with this strength indicator! The generation of random passwords for the new users is now more reliable and safe.
Working with different languages in WordPress is not an easy task (not like in Joomla! ;-)). In WordPress 3.7 there are language packages independent from the plugins. This will allow the user to update only a particular language or languages (not all of them).
TinyMCE is one of the most flexible and reliable visual editor nowadays. The new update of the TinyMCE – TinyMCE 4.0 is used in this WordPress update.
Improved Search Results
Search results are now ordered by how well the search query matches a post, instead of ordered only by date. For example, when your search terms match a post title, that result will be pushed to the top.
Better Global Support
Localized versions of WordPress will receive faster and more complete translations. WordPress 3.7 adds support for automatically installing the right language files and keeping them up to date.
wp_get_sites() allows developers to easily get an array of all the sites on your network without resorting to a direct database query — just one of many improvements to multisite in WordPress 3.7.
